PET Chips is the common name of Polyester Chips or Polyethylene Terephthalate Chips. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) chips are created by granulating polyester obtained in a polycondensation reaction of pure terephthalic acid and mono-ethylene along with monomers.
PET chips are the fundamental raw material for several plastic industries that produce PET film, bottling solutions, fiber, and other products that have extensive use and applications all over. PET chips are the base of plastics and polymer.
PET may exist as Super Bright (actually transparent) or even bright chips. Then there are PET semi-dull chips used for making PET films. These films have a wide application including one of the most popular ones being – plastic bags. Another variety of PET chips is the bottle-grade chips that are used to make a variety of plastic jugs. The PET chips find a wide variety of applications including textiles. Chips used in the textile making are supplied in three grades – semi-dull, full-dull, and super bright grades.
